In recent years, solid ion conductors with unprecedented ambient ionic conductivities have been discovered, opening avenues for practical solid-state batteries. One such example is tungsten-doped Na3SbS4, boasting a stellar Na-ion conductivity >10 mS/cm at room temperature. We aim to study the dynamics in this electrolyte in order to understand the origin of its high ionic conductivity and contribute to the further rational design of solid electrolytes for batteries. Polarized QENS is uniquely positioned to allow insights into the single-Na-ion dynamics as well as suspected collective/correlation effects in the vacancy-mediated ion-transport mechanism.
