OPTIMIZATION OF LIBRARY SERVICES THROUGH INFORMATION SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT IN THE DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF DEFENSE POTENTIAL MINISTRY OF DEFENSE OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA

The library of the Directorate General of Defense Potential (Ditjen Pothan) of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia is a strategic supporting unit providing information resources for officers, researchers, and employees within the ministry. With the increasing volume of collections and user needs, the library management system, which is still manual, is no longer able to meet the demands of fast, accurate, and efficient service. The aim of this research is to study the current state of library services, identify existing obstacles, and develop a model of a library information system based on digital technology as a solution to optimize services. Data for this study were collected from primary and secondary sources. Primary data were collected directly from the field through observation and purposive sampling interviews with the library head, management staff and active users, and supplemented by a usability test in which 67 respondents rated the Vidyalaya application on a five-point Likert scale for the usability attributes of Nielsen. Secondary data was collected from annual library reports, legislation and regulations connected to the library, internal policy documents of the Kemhan and scientific literature.
