资源简介:
There are 170 pages of transcripted letters from Benjamin Champion Prevost home to his parents dating from October 1916 through to his discharge in England during the early months of 1919. B. C. Prevost was a wool merchant before the beginning of hostilities, which incidentally found him stranded in Leipzig, repatriated first to Switzerland and then to Marseilles from where he returned to Australia. His father was senior partner in a Wool Merchant house dealing in Adelaide, South Australia and New Zealand. Hence there are many references to the wool trade throughout this correspondence and mention is made of many wool merchant contacts in the United Kingdom. The letters were typed out and loose-bound by a cousin, together with those of his brother Charles, also fighting in France, so that they could be handed around to the extended family and friends.
The remaining 162 pages of transcript will be put on line over the next few weeks.
