Epiphytic bacteria growing in communities on leaf surfaces are extremely diverse yet understudied. Additionally, bacteria in the phyllosphere are important not only for plant health, but also cross-Kingdom interactions with pests and beneficial insect species. Here, we present draft genomes of eight epiphytic bacterial species isolated from legume crops that likely interact with herbivorous insects.
