Host/virus expression analysis of wildtype and transmission-incompetent Gallid alphaherpesvirus 2 in chickens.. Gallus gallus

The primary goal of this project is to investigate the transcriptional, translational, and post-translational changes associated with infection with wildtype and transmission-incompetent GaHV-2 and the differences in response between spleen and feather follicle epithelia, the primary site of production of airborne infective particles. A combination of RNA-Seq and LC-MS/MS was used to measure these changes and address the primary and related questions of viral and host molecular function.
