We performed Smart-seq 2 and analyzed the differential expression of genes and pathways of Modic change to comparator group. Additionally, we detect the role of reactive oxygen species on pyroptosis of NP. Overall design: NPs were isolated from 10 human herniated lumbar discs, including five with Modic change and five with degeneration, and then subjected to Smart-seq 2.
