Coronavirus TV and movie viewing: popular genres U.S. 2020, by age group

A survey revealed that comedy was by far the most popular TV and movie genre among U.S. adults who responded to a survey held in March 2020, with 21 percent saying that they had watched comedy content the most since it was recommended to stay away from public gatherings due to the coronavirus outbreak. By comparison, just six percent of respondents were watching horror movies or TV shows, though 12 percent of 18 to 29-year-olds cited horror as the genre they'd most watched in recent weeks.
