Awareness of amended passive smoking law in Japan 2019

According to a survey conducted in December 2019 in Japan, only 30 percent of respondents were aware of the changed regulations regarding passive smoking due to the amended Health Promotion Act. The amendments to the Health Promotion Act in Japan started in July 2018 and was scheduled to be completed by April 2020 prior to the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The bill prohibits smoking in public facilities, offices as well as most restaurants and public areas.
