This dataset contains 1839 cone penetration test (CPT) results from across North America. This is the second version of this dataset, at the same DOI, where the first version contained 984 CPTs. The CPT data herein were processed and standardized according to the procedure described in the README file, which also includes formatting and structure details. The data are provided in both Python and Matlab file formats. Each row/cell of the dataframe contains the information for one CPT test, including: the identification number (ID); geographic coordinates in WGS84; CPT data (qc, fs, and depth); groundwater table (gwt) depth; increment of change in depth below the ground surface corresponding to the CPT depth data; and the depth of pre-drill prior to CPT.
This collection of CPT data has multiple potential uses, including liquefaction hazard assessments and studies of subsurface variability, among others. The CPT profiles were sourced from various publicly available sources. References corresponding to each CPT source are provided in this repository.
