Phylogenomic sequence data from the genus Prunus

The plum genus (Prunus, Rosaceae) has documented discord between the nuclear and chloroplast genomes, with a suspected history of allopolyploidy and/or hybridization. Without a well-resolved phylogeny, downstream analyses such as biogeographic reconstructions remain challenging. In this study, we generate hundreds of nuclear loci and complete chloroplast genomes to resolve the phylogeny of 75 species representing all major lineages of Prunus. The sequence data and resulting phylogenies will be used in tests of hybridization and biogeographic analyses.
