Zingiber striolatum Diels, a Chinese endemic medicinal and edible plant, is valued for its buds rich in natural red pigments (YRP). Here, we present the first haplotype-resolved, chromosome-scale assembly of ‘Ziyanghe,’ a purplish-red bud cultivar widely grown in Guizhou Province. The triploid genome was resolved into three haplotypes. SubA measured 2.80 Gb (Scaffold N50 = 268.18 Mb), subB1 measured 2.66 Gb (Scaffold N50 = 268.32 Mb), and subB2 measured 2.64 Gb (Scaffold N50 = 260.32 Mb), with chromosome lengths ranging from 172.64–333.47 Mb, 161.29–305.35 Mb, and 169.79–299.00 Mb, respectively. Genome completeness reached 98.51% based on 1,614 Benchmarking Universal Single-Copy Orthologs (BUSCOs). The completeness scores for the three subgenomes (subA: 98.02%; subB1: 96.96%; subB2: 97.89%) exceeded those of published Z. officinale genome.
