Completion of mitochondria and chloroplast genome DNA sequences of/Marchantia paleacea/ subsp. diptera was achieved by genomic mapping to those of the liverwort, /Marchantia polymorpha/, which is a closely /related species/, and automatic sequence editing by Perl scripts. The mitochondria genome DNA was 186,643 bp in length (AT: 57.58%) and 109 unique genes, including 77 protein-coding genes, 29 tRNAs, three rRNAs, were assigned to the complete mitchondrial genome DNA sequence of /M.paleacea/,based on the known information of mitochondrial genome DNA of /M. polymorpha/ (GenBank accession number NC_001660.1; 186,609 bp). The chloroplast genome DNA was 121,089 bp in length (AT: 71.19%) and contains 134 unique genes, including 89 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNAs, eight rRNAs, were assigned to the complete chloroplast genome DNA sequence of /M. paleacea,/based on the information of mitochondrial genome DNA of /M. polymorpha/(GenBank accession number NC_001319.1;121024 bp)/./ Similarity of mitochondria and chloroplast genomes between two species were 98.7% and 98.05%, respectively.
