Foreclosure filings

This extract lists all reported civil cases (including but not limited to foreclosure hearings) in the State of North Carolina for the previous 5 years. The most current update contains all records from January 2016-June 2020. As a result, this dataset is largely comprehensive, and represents the totality of foreclosure hearings and outcomes over that time period. However, it does not include cases that have been closed or removed, as is allowed in some jurisdictions. The raw AOC Extract is provided as a zip file containing 15+ large files. The extract is made available biannually, in January and July, and contains the civil case records for the preceding 5 years. The extract contains detailed records on civil actions, including but not limited to filing dates, parties, issue types, and judgments. Records also include addresses for parties, as well as identifying codes for the county/jurisdiction in which each action is filed.
