资源简介:
The data presented in this study pertain to the investigation of incorporating non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, specifically meloxicam or ibuprofen, into the diet of male broilers from the Cobb 500 strain, throughout a 42-day lifespan. The objective of this study was to assess the safety of administering ibuprofen or meloxicam to broiler chickens over a 42-day period and to determine whether these drugs have the potential to enhance broiler performance, similar to growth promoters. The statistical analysis of the obtained data was conducted using GraphPad Prism 5.00 software (GraphPad Software, Inc., San Diego, CA, USA), with a significance level set at P<0.05. Parametric data were analyzed using analysis of variance, followed by the Dunnett post hoc test. In cases where homoscedasticity was not confirmed, the Kruskal‒Wallis analysis of variance was applied, followed by the Dunn test. The results indicate the absence of adverse effects and the non-toxicity of the administered doses to the animals. However, caution should be exercised when considering ibuprofen as a potential substitute for growth promoters, as there are indications of incipient renal alterations. Moreover, no statistically significant improvement in broiler weight gain was observed. To obtain a more comprehensive assessment of zootechnical indices, further studies with refined experimental designs involving a greater number of repetitions and birds are recommended.
