In 2023, Edison was the major natural gas provider, with a share of around 14 percent of the gas market in Italy. It was followed by Enel and Eni, which accounted for 13.9 and 13.7of the market, respectively. Furthermore, that same year, these three companies were also the leading natural gas selling firms by volume in Italy.
