July 2016 survey of lake sediment and water geochemistry from 83 lakes Northwest of Yellowknife, NWT, Canada

Surface-water interface samples and water samples were collected from 83 lakes ~10 km north of Yellowknife and directly west of Walsh Lake on the TerraX Minerals Inc northern claim. Samples will be analyzed using Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) in order to establish modern concentrations of elements of concern (EOC) in lakes within a highly-mineralized shear zone in the Slave Geological Province. This survey covers a broad area around the site of a prospective gold mine, and will serve to enhance the understanding of natural variations or possible anthropogenic contamination of EOC in the region.This data will be used to understand concentrations of elements of concern (EOC) in the water and sediments of lakes in the region to explore for possible contamination from past resource development, and attempt to understand modern distributions of EOCs. Results will help understand dynamics and possible transport paths of EOC in the region.
