India is a sub-continent that stretches from Ladakh inthe North to Kanyakumari in the South and fromGujrat in the West to Arunachal Pradesh, Nagalandand Manipur in the East. India is currently theseventh largest country by land covering an area ofapproximately 32,87,263 kms. India's Space Strengths:India is the fourth country in the world to havedestroyed a satellite of its own. India built therecord-breaking space capability of launching 104satellites on a single Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle(PSL) in sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh in the year2017 through Indian Space Research Organization(ISRO). Through SROs Mangalyaan mission Indiabecame the only country in the world to havereached Mars in its first attempt. The Vast Coastline:All such space capabilities and power of India isaccomplished through its vast coastline. India has agross (mainland and island) coastline ofapproximately 7500 kms. which benefits it forlaunching rockets into the space. India has threelaunching facilities as below. Rocket Launching Facilities : «Dr. Abdul Kalam Island in the Bhadrak district ofIndian state of Odisha - Satish Dhawan Space Centre (Sriharikota) in theIndian state of Andhra Pradesh - Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthpuram(Thumba) in the Indian state of Kerala.
