Large rivers play a crucial role in global biogeochemical cycles, attributed mainly by diverse and abundant microbial organisms. The microbial community dynamics and environmental drivers are thus essential for riverine ecosystems to provide various services. We investigate archaeal and bacterial community diversity and variation in the Yangtze River's middle and lower reaches using the 16s rRNA metagenomics approach.
