Lithobates pipiens Olfactory Tissue Transcriptome Assembly. Lithobates pipiens

We employed the Illumina paired-end sequencing technology to sequence the transcriptome of the Northern Leopard frog (L. pipiens) olfactory tissue. Our specific goal was to identify olfaction-related genes (i.e., olfactory receptors). Our ultimate objective was to deorphanize some of the olfacotry receptors and use chemical cues as a strategy for conservation of endangered amphibians.
