Geochemical and microbial diversity characterisation in active, degraded, and restored peatlands of Northern Ireland

The goal is to identify and assess indicators of successful peatland restoration strategies. Microbial ecology characterisation of active, degraded, and restored sites was carried out to determine baseline data and establish an integrated marker approach as a proxy for a better understanding of peatland degradation and restoration.
