Single cell RNA sequencing analysis of bronchoalveolar lavage following SARS-CoV-2 B.1.351/beta variant challenge in mRNA-1273 vaccinated Rhesus macaques

Single cell RNA sequencing analysis was performed on bronchoalveolar lavage samples obtained from Rhesus macaques on day 2 after intranasal/intratracheal infection with SARS-CoV-2 B.1.351/beta variant 4 weeks after the second dose of 30ug mRNA-1273 vaccine along with unvaccinated controls Overall design: Bronchoalveolar lavage was obtained from a total of 8 animals 2 days after secondary SARS-CoV-2 challenge after a 6 month rest. Four animals were previously vaccinated twice with 30ug of mRNA-1273, each dose spaced 4 weeks apart. Four animals were injected with PBS in the same fashion as the vaccinated animals. All 8 animals were infected intranasally/intratracheally with SARS-CoV-2 B.1.351/beta variant 4 weeks after the second injection of either PBS or mRNA-1273
