Diet- and stress-induced changes of RNA in mouse heart

RNA-Seq data show that stress combined with a high-fat versus a fat-free diet, evokes greater changes in gene expression Overall design: Mice were fed either a fat-free (0 Kcal%) or a high-fat (60 Kcal%) diet for 4 days before subjecting them to a sham or transverse aortic constriction (TAC) surgeries. The mice were maintained on the same diet for another week, before they were assessed by echocardiography, the hearts isolated, RNA extracted, sequenced using Illumina NextSeq 500, and analyzed by DESeq2 at 10%FDR (adjusted p-value).
