资源简介:
Mitis group streptococci are a significant cause of bacteremia in immunocompromised hosts, particularly patients with febrile neutropenia (FN). Severe complications, such as viridans streptococcal shock syndrome (VSSS), can occur, but the underlying pathogen-specific factors are not well understood. This project provides raw whole-genome sequencing data for 30 clinical isolates of Mitis group streptococci (primarily S. mitis and S. oralis) collected from patients with bloodstream infections at a single hospital in Japan. The dataset includes isolates from patients with FN (n=12) and without FN (n=18). The primary goal of this study is to compare the genomic profiles, including virulence factor and antimicrobial resistance gene content, between these two cohorts to identify genetic features associated with virulence in the neutropenic host.
