The biggest hotel brand in the United Kingdom (UK) is Premier Inn. The brand, owned by British hospitality group Whitbread, had 75 thousand hotel rooms across the UK in 2018. It was followed by Travelodge, with close to 42 thousand rooms, and Holiday Inn with over 20.5 thousand (not including Holiday Inn Express branded hotels). Budget hotels dominate the UK market Although London is home to some of the most iconic hotels in the world, falling within the upper luxury category, hotel supply figures show a higher trend towards lower budget and economy brands.
