We expressed either only the E7 oncoprotein or the complete early genome region (CER) of the human papillomavirus type 8 in primary human adult skin keratinocytes. Cells were retrovirally transduced, selected, and cellular mRNA was extracted after expansion of the transgene positive keratinocytes. Changes in gene expression were measured using the Human Genome cDNA U133A Affymetrix Arrays in biological triplicates in cells containing either the empty vector control (pLXSN), pLXSN-HPV8-E7 or pLXSN-HPV8-CER.
