Data for: IMPACT OF FIELD CONDITIONS ON THE STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT OF A GEOPOLYMER STABILIZED MARINE CLAY
In this research, Fly Ash (FA) and Slag (S) based geopolymers, prepared with various fly ash and slag contents, were used as cementitious materials to stabilize a soft marine clay for usage in ground improvement applications. The effect of a number of preparation and curing factors, which occur in practice such as mixing method and time, water content and curing temperature and time, on strength development and changes in the microstructure of the clay stabilized with FA+S based geopolymers was studied. The properties of FA and S based geopolymers when used as a cementitious stabilizer to stabilize soft soils need to be fully investigated before practitioners, industry and end-users are willing to consider them in sustainable applications. Hence the study of preparation and curing regime of FA and S based geopolymers in this research is novel and significant and will open new doors for the utilization of geopolymers in the ground improvement of soft marine soils. The data, provided here, are the results of tests conducted for this study.
