VPRS 12401 Reports and Agreements: Electrification

This series is a collection of reports prepared around the issue of the electrification of Melbournes suburban railway system.It would appear Merz & McLennan, a London firm, were contracted as consulting engineers c.1912 to advise Victorian Railways on electrification, to prepare reports, specifications and conditions of contracts for the projects involved in the electrification of the railways, and to assist in assessment of the tenders received for such projects.This series includes agreements between the Railways and the consultants, and various reports created by the consultants, Select Committees and the Victorian Railways Commissioners on issues related to electrification. Some of the reports are original, signed copies. Others appear to be printed copies.
