The aim of the project is to produce new electrode materials with large specific surface areas and high electrical conductivity. New electrode materials produced will be integrated with MFC and then methods to improve bacterial attachment on electrode surfaces will be used. Accordingly, we will try to achieve high power density values in MFC by obtaining effective biofilm formation on new electrode materials produced. Microbial species and density on anode electrode surface will be determined by using molecular techniques and SEM analysis, and effects of new electrode materials and bacterial attachment on microbial species and density will be evaluated. Additionally, bioelectrochemical kinetic models will be applied to results obtained.
