VPRS 15579 Index to Purchasers, Section 172, Land Act 1915 and Sections 481and 485, Local Government Act 1915

This series indexes purchases of land made under Section 172, Land Act 1915 and under Sections 481 and 485 of the Local Government Act 1915. Section 172 allowed for the sale of detached strips of Crown land at a valuation to be determined by the Board of Land and Works. Under the Local Government Act, Section 481 allowed for the purchase of lands used for a road required for access to a property but not needed for public use and Section 485 allowed the sale of lands to fronting properties when the width of a road was narrowed.Details given in this series are the date of the entry in the Government Gazette, the name of the purchaser, the location and extent of the land, the Section of the Act under which the purchase was made, the correspondence (or file) number, details of payments and of the receipt of the Red Faced Return (RFR) relating to the fulfilment of conditions.
