Genomics clarifies taxonomic boundaries in CA Roach and Hitch

Samples were taken for both fish species across most of their ranges (restricted to CA) in order to better assess the taxonomic hierarchy between and within each species (including possible hybridization). The results, which differentiated samples from the level of genera down to identifying introduction origins, should greatly help biologists conserve and manage these species and their many complexities.
