This study is the first to reveal the microscopic mechanism by which betaine improves ileal structure and antioxidant capacity through the microbiota-SCFAs-metabolites cascade effect: by enriching SCFA-producing beneficial bacteria (such as Bifidobacterium and Aeriscardovia), it coordinately regulates ceramide and arginine metabolism, thereby enhancing intestinal barrier function.
