The Escherichia K12 strain MC1061 was infected with the detoxified Stx-phage Phi24B::Cat. This lysogen was then sequenced using the 454 pyrosequencing platform. This genome sequence was obtained in order to more efficiently map RNA Seq data obtained from different culture conditions to identify the impact Stx prophage carriage has on the bacterial host.
