Dataset on stemflow generation and chemistry of selected urban tree species in Sri Lanka

This dataset contains event-based rainfall and stemflow measurements collected from young urban tree species in Maharagama, Sri Lanka, during 2023. The data were used to assess species-wise differences in stemflow generation, funneling ratio, and stemflow-related hydrological behaviour under comparable urban conditions. Measurements were obtained from five commonly planted urban tree species growing in the same local environment and of similar age. The dataset includes rainfall characteristics, stemflow volumes, calculated stemflow indices, and basic tree structural attributes. An accompanying R script is provided to support data processing and reproduction of the analyses.
