MDA-MB-231 cells treated with magnetic beads

To facilitate the construction of cancer models using experimental animals, we develop magnetic cancer cell microrobots (MCCMs) by using the phagocytic ability of cancer cells. The uptake of magnetic particles endows the cancer cells with magnetic actuation capability. Besides, the external magnetic field can precisely transport the fabricated cancer microrobots to a targeted particular localization, and the microrobots exhibit satisfactory cultivation capacity. We examined the effect of the uptake of magnetic particles on mutation pattern and overall gene expression pattern of MDA-MB-231 cells, which have been widely used in breast cancer research for many years.
