Global Historical Climatology Network

This dataset provides monthly gridded data from January 1880 through the most recent completed month. The data consist of Celsius-scale temperature anomalies. This dataset allows for the quantification of average monthly temperature and precipitation changes across Earth's surface. Changes inherent to the observing system have been carefully removed to enable the portrayal of true climate variations on Earth's surface within the dataset. This fine-grained dataset supports extensive historical analyses of Earth's climate to answer questions regarding climate change, including the effects of temporal temperature changes on various regions across the globe.
