Frequency of CD 56 protein expression in thyroid carcinomas and their impact on neoplasm migration capability among Sudanese patients: across sectional study

This is a descriptive
retrospective hospital based study, was conducted in Alzaeim Alazhari
University of at histopathology laboratory. Two Hundred and six formalin fixed
paraffin embedded blocks previously diagnosed as thyroid tumors were collected
for this study, they included hundred and two with malignant thyroid tumors and
hundred and four as benign thyroid tumors. Data collected from record demographic
characterization and histopathological diagnosis. Archived blocks known
diagnosed as thyroid tumor data and blocks collected from seven different
hospitals in Khartoum state in (from 2012 to 2016 year period) . from National

The National Ribbat, Khartoum North, Ibrahim Malek, and Omdurman Teaching
Hospitals, Sudan. It was performed in
tissue micro array slides labeled (A 1-A 15) to measure the protein expression of
CD 56 protein in different sub types of thyroid tumor. Two Hundred and six formalin fixed paraffin embedded blocks
previously diagnosed as thyroid tumors were collected for this study, .The Ministry of health of
Khartoum state approved the study and waived informed consent from patient
since there was anonymization of patients' identity and only laboratory numbers
were used
