Role of Apyrase 1 (APY1) in Apoplastic Salvaging of P From Extracellular Nucleotides

Genome-wide expression profiling was used to investigate differences in P salvaging from nucleotides (NTP) by wild-type Arabidopsis thaliana ecotype Wassilewskija (Ws) seedlings and Ws seedlings overexpressing the apyrase 1 gene AtAPY1. Seedlings were grown on Murashige-Skoog (MS) agar medium, with and without P and with or without NTP supplementation. Seedlings were grown for 15 days, 24 C under a 16L:8D photoperiod and full-spectrum LED grow lights. Total RNA was extracted from whole seedlings, 4 hours into the light period.
