Global natural gas demand by region 2021-2050

Asia Pacific is expected to become the greatest natural gas market by 2050. In 2021, the demand for natural gas was highest in North America at approximately one trillion cubic meters (tcm). This is forecast to change as Asia Pacific's demand for natural gas increases from 915 billion cubic meters in 2021 to 1.6 tcm in 2050. Europe is the only region that is forecast to see a continuous decline in natural gas demand in the upcoming decades.
