Comparative transcriptome analysis of two contrasting pigeon pea genotypes provides new insights into the drought response mechanism

The present study was conducted to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying drought tolerance mechanism in pigeon pea through a comparative transcriptome analysis under drought stress. For this, Cajanus cajan cultivars, CO1 and CO5 were selected to obtain a comprehensive idea about the dynamics of gene regulation and expression during drought in different species of pigeon pea and their innate adaptive features to tackle drought stress.
