Point Cloud - Castillo de Salvatierra

This is a point cloud of the Salvatierra Castle, located in the municipality of Calzada de Calatrava (Ciudad Real, Spain). The data were collected with three FAROFocus3D laser scanners in March 2017. The castle is of the period of greatest historical prominence between the battles of Alarcos (1195) and Las Navas de Tolosa (1212). Between 1198 and 1211 the Order of Calatrava installed its convent headquarters in this fortress and was consolidated as the Order of Salvatierra. In 1226 it was definitely abandoned when its last Muslim defenders handed it over to Christians in the context of Las Navas pacts. Despite its advanced state of ruin, it still retains part of the donjon, numerous barrel vaults and large walled spaces that acted as albacar and barbican.
