William Foster Tombstone

This tombstone is located in the Masonic section of Evergreen Cemetery, Santa Cruz. The relief at the top is beautifully carved and depicts Father Time and a maiden. Father Time has an hourglass at his feet and a scythe leaning against his left shoulder, with its blade resting on the ground. He is untangling the young woman's hair. The young woman leans against a broken column and holds a small vessel in her left hand and a sprig of evergreen in her right hand. A book rests on top of the bottom half of the broken column.
