Site Photographs and GIS Data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Land to the North-West of Junction 7 of the A1(M), Knebworth Park, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, 2022

This collection comprises the site photographs and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation of land north-west of Junction 7 of the A1(M), Knebworth Park, Hertfordshire, carried out by Cotswold Archaeology in June 2022 at the request of HCUK Group, acting on behalf of GRIDSERVE Sustainable Energy Ltd. A total of 17 trenches were excavated across the 2.3 hectare site in advance of the construction of an electric vehicle charging station with ancillary retail unit and associated infrastructure and landscaping.The fieldwork revealed only a small number of archaeological features, including ditches likely representative of activity on the edge of a Late Iron Age and/or very early Roman settlement.
