In this study, we isolated and characterized a potent biocontrol strain, P. peoriae 3-B4, which enhanced maize resistance to F. verticillioides. Transcriptomic results revealed that the DEGs were primarily associated with 5 signaling pathways and that some critical genes, such as NPR1, bZIP, MYB, LRR, and WRKY, were regulated.
