Storm in Latvia (2024-07-28)

On the 28 July 2024 at 18:00, a storm is reported to have affected Latvia. The event is on-going and multiple areas are being affected both by the wind and rainfall. Increasing water levels and toppled trees are damaging infrastructure, road accessibility and are resulting in flooded territories. From 9 AM of 28 July 2024 to 9 AM of 29 July 2024 most precipitation has been registered in surrounding territory of Riga scaling from 87 mm to 193 mm. It is expected for the levels to raise. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide initial rough estimation, delineation and damage assessment emergency mapping.
