This study summarizes the taxonomic treatment of the camel spider genus Chanbria Muma 1951 and is a contribution to a forthcoming series of taxonomic revisions focused on the North American camel spider family Eremobatidae Kraepelin 1899. Using an integrative taxonomic approach incorporating phylogenetic, morphological, and natural history information, the genus is herein revised. Phylogenetic and morphological evidence consistently recovered Chanbria as a well–supported group within Eremobatidae. The two previously described species in the genus are retained: C. regalis Muma 1951 and C. serpentinus Muma 1951. Eremochelis plicatus (Muma 1962) com. nov. is transferred to this genus because it is consistently recovered in a clade with Chanbria based on several phylogenetic analyses using hundreds of loci recovered from UCE data. In this study, we re–analyze previously acquired genomic data to assess former species hypotheses and identify new morphological synapomorphies that support the monophyly of Chanbria. The genetic data support the synonymization of C. rectus Muma 1962 with C. regalis syn. nov., and we argue that the morphological character used to separate these two species is an example of intraspecific variation. Furthermore, although not genetically sampled, we suggest the synonymy of C. tehachapianus Muma 1962 with C. regalis syn. nov. because C. tehachapianus was also erected based on limited morphological information. Two new species, C. brookharti sp. nov., C. mapemes sp. nov. are described.
