The SDXL VAE Decoded Images dataset is a collection of image-image pairs from the Danish newspaper TV2 Nord, consisting of an original version and a version encoded and decoded using the SDXL VAE. Large images have been resized to reduce computational needs to a maximum pixel area of 612x612 or a pixel height/width of 768. The dataset is intended for studying the impact of VAE-induced artifacting on non-synthetic images and can be used to analyze the quality of image reconstruction after VAE encoding and decoding.
