资源简介:

This nationally representative, population-based study evaluated visual outcomes following cataract surgery in Nepal using data from 42,257 participants screened at community-based camps and transported to base hospitals for surgery. Most participants were aged 60–69 years (40.9%), with females comprising 52.7%. The majority were Nepali (96.3%), and 35.3% were from Lumbini Province. Outreach clinics accounted for 75.1% of service access. Visual improvement was highest among those aged 70–79 years (95.1%), while deterioration was greatest in those ≥80 years (3.6%), with age showing a significant association with visual outcomes (p=0.013). Findings underscore the importance of periodic, well-managed eye camps to extend services to underserved populations.
