The first 1 km high-resolution atmospheric moisture index dataset over China (HiMIC-Monthly) includes six commonly used atmospheric moisture indices: Relative Humidity (RH), Actual Vapor Pressure (AVP), Vapor Pressure Deficit (VPD), Dew Point Temperature (DPT), Mixing Ratio (MR), and Specific Humidity (SH). The HiMIC-Monthly dataset has a spatial resolution of 1 km x 1 km and a temporal resolution of 1 month, covering mainland China from January 2003 to December 2020. For all six moisture indices in the HiMIC-Monthly dataset, the coefficient of determination (R²) exceeds 0.96, and both the root mean square error (RMSE) and mean absolute error (MAE) are within reasonable ranges. This dataset is stored annually, with each year consisting of 12 monthly GeoTIFF or NetCDF files. To save storage space, all data are stored as Int16 integer type. When using the data, they need to be divided by 100 to convert the values of RH, AVP, VPD, DPT, MR, and SH into units of %, hPa, hPa, °C, g/kg, and g/kg, respectively.
