Gut microbiota (GM) disorder was considered as one of the potential factors involved in the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease (CAD), but GM characteristics of Tibetan highlanders suffered from CAD is unknown. We sequenced the V3-V4 region of the gut bacteria 16S ribosomal RNA of fecal samples from Tibetan and Han CAD patients and healthy individuals inhabiting at Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and Han CAD patients and healthy individuals living at sea level, respectively, and analyzed the GM characteristics of these subjects by bio-informatics analysis.
