This dataset mainly focuses on the hydrophobic modification of cellulose-based materials, especially paper-based materials, and the improvement of the barrier properties of paper-based materials (such as water proof, oil proof, water vapor barrier, etc.), in which the constructed coatings are based on environmentally friendly and degradable materials. The modified paper-based materials were applied in paper-based straws and waterproof paper packaging, and their applicability was studied in detail.
